An 18 month post-doctoral position (starting October 2014) is available in the laboratories of Dr. Anne Harrison-Marchand / Dr. Jacques Maddaluno at the Université de Rouen. The project foscuses on structure-reactivity relationships and on the characterization of highly sensitive organometallics reactants. The partners have a common interest in the use of innovative organometallic tools such as alkali metallated (Li, Na, K) phosphide boranes (MPB) from which unexplained results have recently been obtained. The main objective of the project is to bring answers and interpretation to their questioning thanks to detailed structural investigations, with the ultimate aim of optimizing reaction conditions to improve yields and selectivities. For this, they wish the Post-Doctoral fellow to

i) synthesize the organometallic derivatives to be examined;
ii) analyze the samples in solution by NMR spectroscopy;
iii) crystallize the same samples in order to get complementary solid state structural information
iv) run theoretical calculations to detail the structural characteristics of the species involved, on geometrical, energetic and electronic grounds.
