An 18 month post-doctoral position (starting October 2014) is available in the laboratories of Dr. Anne Harrison-Marchand / Dr. Jacques Maddaluno at the Université de Rouen. The project foscuses on structure-reactivity relationships and on the characterization of highly sensitive organometallics reactants. The partners have a common interest in the use of innovative organometallic tools such as alkali metallated (Li, Na, K) phosphide boranes (MPB) from which unexplained results have recently been obtained.

This award is presented to an undergraduate student whose ability to perform undergraduate research in the field of Inorganic Chemistry is judged to be of outstanding quality.This year’s winner is Eric Bowes of Mount Allison University.

Mita Dasog wins 2014 AGWIC for outstanding doctoral dissertation

The CSC Inorganic Division is pleased to announce the outstanding recipient of the 2014 Award for Graduate Work in Inorganic Chemistry. This award is presented to a graduate student registered in a Ph.D. program at a Canadian university, for exceptional Ph.D. thesis research in a field of inorganic chemistry. This year’s winner is Mita Dasog of the University of Alberta.

Postdoc positions available in the Crudden Group

Two postdoctoral fellow positions are available immediately in the Crudden research labs. One will be at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, and one at the Institute for Transformative Bio-Molecules in Nagoya, Japan. The successful candidate(s) will have experience in catalysis and experience working with metal nanoparticles will be a considerable asset. Organic chemistry skills and experience working in inert atmosphere environments are also a plus. Candidates should be highly motivated and able to work independently. Experience supervising graduate and/or undergraduate students and working in a diverse team is an asset.
